What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at American Millwork LLC?
American Millwork is an established leading producer of quality hardwood mouldings and boards. We are proud of our fun, family-like atmosphere. We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Controller to lead our accounting and financial reporting functions. This is a key leadership role for someone who combines strong technical accounting expertise with sound business judgment and a hands-on approach. The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and provide financial insight that helps leadership make informed decisions. In addition, cost accounting and oversight of our IT function would be a bonus.
- Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations
- Manage the monthly and annual close process
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports
- Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
- Oversee cash flow, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning in partnership with leadership
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and regulatory obligations
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, banks, and other financial partners
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and reporting
- Develop and monitor meaningful financial KPIs
