Position Overview: Retail Store Manager
American Liquidations is excited to open a new retail location in Bristol, Connecticut this October, and we are seeking an experienced Retail Store Manager to lead this exciting new store from the ground up.
We would like the Store Manager to begin in mid-August to help prepare the store for opening. This includes recruiting and hiring the store team, training employees, assisting with store setup and merchandising, establishing operational processes, and partnering with company leadership to ensure a successful grand opening.
Following the opening, the Store Manager will be responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and daily operations of the store. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring someone who enjoys developing people, driving results, creating an outstanding customer experience, and leading by example.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all daily store operations to ensure exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and profitability.
- Drive sales performance while managing payroll, labor, and operating expenses.
- Ensure merchandise is stocked, organized, priced, and presented according to company standards.
- Maintain accurate inventory and minimize shrink through strong operational controls.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and asset protection procedures.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally while creating an exceptional shopping experience.
- Directly supervise Assistant Managers, Supervisors, and Retail Associates.
- Coach, mentor, and hold team members accountable for performance and customer service expectations.
- Conduct performance reviews, recognition, coaching, and corrective action when necessary.
- Foster a culture built on accountability, teamwork, integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Assist in the hiring efforts for the Bristol location.
- Assist with merchandising, inventory setup, store organization, and operational readiness.
- Partner with company leadership throughout the store opening process.
- Successfully execute the grand opening and establish a high-performing retail operation.
QualificationsRequired
- 3 years of retail management experience, including responsibility for overall store operations.
- Proven success leading, hiring, and developing retail teams.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience managing sales performance, labor, inventory, and operational metrics.
- Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Dependable, accountable, and results-driven.
- Willingness to lead from the sales floor and work alongside the team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain active throughout the workday.
Preferred
- Experience opening a new retail store or leading major store transitions.
- Background in merchandising, inventory management, or retail operations.
- Bilingual proficiency.
