SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Foam Department Supervisor or Assistant Supervisor, the Padder is responsible for the safe and efficient joining of foam using water-based adhesives, staple guns, and other hand tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in upholstery or furniture manufacturing.
- Familiarity with foam materials and their properties.
- Basic knowledge of safety standards in a manufacturing setting.
Responsibilities:
- Apply foam padding to furniture components according to specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect materials and finished products for defects and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and productivity.
- Document production activities and report any issues to the supervisor promptly.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Manual dexterity with the ability to operate hand and power tools, including spray guns
- Ability to work independently
- Flexibility to work a changing work schedule according to production demands
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in cold and hot environments
- Ability to work with strict deadlines
- Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
- Ability to work in a production environment using PPE
EFFORT
- Continuous standing for extended periods (minimum 8-hour shift)
- Frequent lifting and turning using arms and torso (minimum 8-hour shift)
- Frequent bending, pushing, leaning, and twisting (minimum 8-hour shift)
