JOB TITLE: Material Handler
DEPARTMENT: Shipping and Receiving
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Foam Supervisor
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Foam Supervisor, the Material Handler is responsible for the distribution of materials.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transacts the physical product from one area to another via kitting and/or direct floor requests
- Ensures workstations are filled up with work
- Keep WIP areas filled up and material flowing throughout their respective area of responsibility
- Inform Supervisors when WIP areas are below or above expected levels of material, components or WIP
- Pick up completed jobs and place them in queue area
- Help expediting reworks
- Replenish working stations with raw materials and supplies
- Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate them to Supervisor
- Implement and follow up projects for Continuous Improvement
- Audits
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required
- Follow up with reworks sent to other departments
- Fill up and send requisitions of department consumables
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and projects
- Ability to interact collaboratively with others
- Ability to lift 25 to 50lbs
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work overtime as required
