JOB TITLE: Material Handler
DEPARTMENT: Frame Building
FLSA: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
Schedule: Monday – Friday 6:30 am - 4:30 pm
Overtime may be required beyond the posted work schedule and/or a varied schedule may be required per business needs.
SUMMARY: The Material Handler supports the Frame Building department by loading/unloading trucks, inspecting and tagging frames, maintaining inventory, and ensuring proper staging of materials. This role involves operating various equipment and power tools, assisting with tasks across departments (notably Shipping and Post), and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- · Assist in loading and unloading trucks and checking in frames according to loads.
- Reporting any discrepancies and/or quality issues immediately to management.
- · Sort and place frames in designated staging areas according to organizational standards
- · Maintains inventory and assists with monthly inventory.
- · Inspect frames as they are being loaded and unloaded according to Direction.

- · Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping areas clean, aisles free of
- frames, pallets in order and workstation.
- · Able to follow safety procedures when loading, unloading, operating equipment such as
- forklift, electric pallet jack, manual pallet jack, and ladder safety.
- Operate various power tools and equipment, including a bandsaw, to cut posts to specified measurements.
- Accurately track and maintain inventory records, including linear feet of materials processed.
- Assist with tasks across departments, primarily between the Post Department and Shipping.
- Support the Shipping Department by helping load trucks and preparing materials for delivery.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- · General computer knowledge (AS400 a plus)
- · Detailed oriented, organized, and able to work with little supervision.
- · Knowledge of power tools (staple gun, grinder, sander)
- · 1-year minimum warehouse experience preferred.
- · Inventory experience
- · Knowledge of furniture frame construction preferred.
- · Excellent communication skills
- · Able to work full time.
- · Able to travel between plant locations when needed.
- · Able to work in hot and cold environment
- · Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50lbs.
