Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. At Charter One we pride ourselves on our thorough knowledge of charter school operations, academics, finance, human resources, information technology, marketing, and more. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.
American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for a part-time Culinary Arts Teacher (9-12) for the 2026-2027 school year at our Applied Technologies Campus. Candidates must possess a valid AZ IVP fingerprint clearance card.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Implement a comprehensive curriculum that includes topics such as cooking techniques, food safety, nutrition, menu planning, and restaurant management.
- Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on training sessions to teach students essential culinary skills and hospitality practices.
- Evaluate student performance through practical assessments, written exams, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
- Maintain an organized and safe kitchen and classroom environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Guide and mentor students in their culinary education, helping them develop their skills and prepare for careers in the industry.
- Work with faculty and administration to enhance the culinary program, contributing to curriculum review and improvement initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts, hospitality management, or a related field.
- Valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance card
- At least 3 years of professional culinary experience in a restaurant or food service setting.
- Basic experience in teaching or training is preferred but not mandatory.
- Relevant certifications in culinary arts or food safety (e.g., ServSafe).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in culinary arts, hospitality management, or a related field.
- 5 years of professional culinary experience, with prior teaching or instructional experience preferred.
- Advanced culinary certifications (e.g., Certified Executive Chef) are preferred.
