Position Overview

The Mulch Technician III is a senior-level Mulch Technician responsible for advanced mulch installation and site preparation tasks with minimal supervision. This role ensures crew efficiency, safety, and training while providing technical leadership and mentoring junior Mulch Technicians. Acting as a key operational contributor, the Mulch Technician III supports the Crew Leader and steps into leadership when needed.

Key Responsibilities For Mulch Technician III

• Mulch Installation & Site Prep: Perform mulch placement and spreading across varied terrain. Load/unload mulch materials and tools.
• Equipment Operation: Operate mulch blowers, wheelbarrows, and other mulch-related equipment. Train junior Mulch Technicians on safe operation and maintenance.
• Crew Support: Mentor and guide Mulch Technicians I and II. Monitor site efficiency and safety.
• Job Site Coordination: Prepare and secure job sites. Review scopes and prioritize mulch tasks for quality and efficiency.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce PPE standards and promote safe work practices among all Mulch Technicians.
  
  

Qualifications For Mulch Technician III

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience: 3 years as a Mulch Technician or in landscaping. Leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
• Skills:
• Advanced mulch installation techniques and equipment knowledge.
• Ability to coach and lead other Mulch Technicians.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
