Essential Duties of a Crew Leader
Operational Management
- Ensure tools and equipment are loaded before job site departure
- Manage truck and trailer loading/unloading daily
- Supervise technicians and delegate tasks to ensure safety and productivity
- Oversee work tickets and ensure timely completion
- Inspect completed work for quality and client satisfaction
- Enforce PPE standards and safe work practices
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of trucks, trailers, and job sites
- Submit accurate work order documentation daily
- Read and interpret blueprints to assign tasks effectively
- Maintain a clean and safe work site
- Must be comfortable driving large landscape truck
- Promote continuous improvement in safety and environmental practices
- Communicate crew member performance to leadership
- Oversee training and development of crew members
- Lead by example and support a positive team culture
- 2–3 years of landscape industry experience required
- 1 years of leadership experience preferred
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead a team effectively
- Strong knowledge of landscaping phases and project execution
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Extended hours during peak seasons
- Physical activity including lifting, bending, and working on uneven terrain
- Exposure to noise, dust, pollen, insects, and mechanical hazards
