Job purpose
Responsible for the planning and delivering instruction on fundamental computer and internet skills, developing curriculum, maintaining records, basic WIOA information and fostering supportive learning environment where students gain the confidence to use digital tools for daily tasks, online safety and accessing information.
Duties and responsibilities
- Provide digital literacy instruction to individuals unfamiliar with technology including: .
a. Computer hardware and basic use of a laptop
b. Create, access and manage email account
c. Use search engines, online resources, and web security
d. WIOA information for further career and training
- Create curriculum on the basic skills needed for digital literacy.
- Administering questionnaires to attain demographic and computer knowledge and needs.
- Follow-up with students one-month after completion of class to ascertain how learned skills are being used.
- Work with program staff to refine curriculum to meet program needs.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum of three-years teaching experience along with proficient knowledge in basic computer and internet skills. Curriculum development experience preferred. This is a contracted position so a W9 will be required.
