Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in menu planning and development to ensure variety and quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety protocols
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices
- Assist with food presentation and plating to enhance visual appeal
- Support other kitchen staff during busy periods or special events such as catering
- Ensure all food preparation complies with health regulations and safety standards
- Manage inventory levels and communicate supply needs to the management team
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within a restaurant or culinary setting
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of dietary department requirements and menu planning
- Experience in fine dining or catering environments is preferred
- Excellent understanding of food safety standards and sanitation procedures
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
