Position Overview
The Loan Officer Assistant (LOA) plays a critical role in supporting Loan Officers by managing files, communicating with clients, and ensuring loans move efficiently from application to closing. This is a fast-paced position that requires strong organization, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Loan Officers with loan file setup, processing, and pipeline management
- Communicate with borrowers to collect documentation (income, assets, credit, etc.)
- Review loan files for completeness and accuracy before submission
- Work with processors, underwriters, and title companies to keep files moving
- Update clients and referral partners on loan status
- Manage CRM and keep notes/files organized
- Order third-party services (appraisals, title, etc.)
- Ensure deadlines and closing timelines are met
Qualifications
- Previous mortgage or real estate experience preferred (LOA, processor, or LO experience)
- Familiarity with systems is a plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple files at once
- Detail-oriented and deadline-driven
