Job Purpose
The Marshal is responsible for patrolling the golf course and keeping a steady pace of play for members and guests. The Marshal serves as a resource to others by answering questions and addressing concerns with management in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Acknowledge, greet and thank all members and guests
- Maximize course utilization by managing pace of play
- Enforcing course rules for members and guests
- Maintain member safety by providing assistance on the course
- Implement and support all AGC initiatives and programs as requested by management
- Other duties may be assigned by management
Qualifications
- Experience in a customer service-oriented environment, preferably in the golf/hospitality/service industry
- Must be able to operate golf carts and other machinery safely
- Ability to communicate effectively with members, co-workers and management
- Valid driver’s license required
- High school diploma or GED
Working Conditions
- Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs.
- Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull. The employee may be required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, or sharp objects. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
