AMFEC is an industry-leading manufacturer of food processing equipment and is looking for a hands-on experienced Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Draftsman to join our dynamic and growing team.

Position Summary:
Applies knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, CAD (SolidWorks) expertise, and food manufacturing experience to execute and further develop a product/product family, as well as provide support for sustaining and developing custom projects.
Education/Experience Requirements:
B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred)
Food Manufacturing Experience
3-5 years mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing process and/or machine design role (Preferred)
Skills Required:
- Ability to plan and execute engineering product development activities with strong project planning, and interfacing skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work from written or verbal instructions with minimum supervision
- Working knowledge of various production processes including plasma cutting sheet metal stamping & forming, machining, welding and assembly.
- Understanding of basic hydraulics, pneumatics, vacuum and power transmission (Sprocket and Chain Gearing) is a must.
- Understanding of food manufacturing processes, USDA Good Manufacturing Practices, and Sanitary Design principals. Meat protein product focus experiences preferred.
- SolidWorks proficiency through SW2023

Essential Job Functions:
- Design components and subsystems using SolidWorks and other design tools to meet specific requirements
- Support proposed solutions with engineering analysis
- Document and release engineered solutions including part drawings, assembly drawings, control drawings, purchased parts specifications, and bills of material
- Work collaboratively with Purchasing group and vendors to provide sourcing solutions to design requirements
- Support manufacturing from design through final test including fabrication, assembly and occasionally installation.
