About the Role
Mike Glod Agency, an American Family Insurance agency in Markesan, WI, is hiring a full-time Customer Service Representative (CSR). This role is focused on delivering friendly, accurate service to our customers—helping with policy questions and changes, renewals, billing support, and coverage reviews—while also identifying opportunities to add protections like bundling and Life insurance when it benefits the customer.
What You’ll Do (Primary Focus: Service)
Customer Service & Policy Support
- Provide exceptional service by phone, text, email, and in person.
- Assist customers with policy changes (add/remove vehicles or drivers, address updates, coverage changes, ID cards, proof of insurance, etc.).
- Answer billing questions and help customers understand payment options and policy documents.
- Review coverages at renewal and during life events; recommend updates to keep protection current.
- Help customers with basic claim reporting guidance and connect them to the right claims resources.
Relationship Building & Retention
- Build long-term relationships through proactive follow-up and clear communication.
- Help retain customers by resolving issues quickly and accurately.
- Ask for referrals and support agency growth through outstanding service.
Light Sales / Coverage Conversations
- Quote and offer additional coverage when appropriate (Auto, Home, Renters, Condo, Umbrella, Business).
- Encourage bundling to help customers get the best value and more complete protection.
- Life insurance—by offering it when a customer’s situation indicates a need.
Accuracy & Compliance
- Document customer interactions and policy updates accurately in agency systems.
- Follow agency procedures and carrier guidelines; protect confidential customer information.
What We’re Looking For
- Customer-first attitude and strong communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment and learning insurance systems.
- Prior customer service experience preferred (insurance, banking, retail, or call center a plus).
Licensing (Wisconsin)
- Must have or be able to obtain a Wisconsin Property & Casualty license.
- Life/Health license preferred (or willingness to obtain within an agency-defined timeframe).
