Overview

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Senior Footwear Designer (Slippers) to join our team. In this role, you will lead the design and development of trend-right, comfortable slippers that resonate with customer needs and market direction. You will also support the design of women’s and kids’ athletic footwear, with strong opportunity for growth and expanded ownership across these categories.

Location: This is fully onsite position based at our NYC headquarters in the Garment District.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and create designs for slippers based on market trends, customer feedback, and brand guidelines.
  • Spec proposed product to be used for production
  • Prepare and finalize technical drawings of proposed product to be used for production
  • Participate in line development by contributing innovative ideas and variations to expand our slipper product offerings.
  • Stay updated on fashion trends, materials, and manufacturing techniques relevant to slipper design.
  • Interpret design/style trends into brand appropriate product that fits within pricing strategy and production’s skill capacity
  • Maintain a high level of creativity, attention to detail, and efficiency while working on tight deadlines and multiple projects
  • Assisting with additional design projects and tasks as needed

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Slipper Designer or similar role in footwear design.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing creativity, innovation, and proficiency in footwear design.
  • Highly skilled in in Adobe Creative Suite, especially PhotoShop and Illustrator
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and construction techniques relevant to footwear and slipper design.
  • Organized, dedicated and process-driven team player with heavy attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, prioritize workload successfully and execute projects with fast-turnaround, under budget, ahead of tight deadlines.
  • High energy level and a passion for your work and the overall business
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to be flexible for business needs
  • 5 yrs of experience in footwear design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Product Design, or related field (preferred)

Salary: The anticipated base salary is $90k-$120k annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, education, internal equity, and location.
