Overview
American Plastic Products (APP) has been a custom plastic injection molder for over 60 years. We have complete custom plastic injection molding capabilities for designing and manufacturing a product along with point of sale assembly if required. APP is a growing custom plastic injection molder in CT with solid reputable experience in the Medical, Military, Electronic, Cosmetic, Security, Automotive, Aerospace & Communication Industries. We are currently accepting applications for a tool maker to support our production operations.

Duties
- Perform preventive maintenance on molds, including cleaning and prepping molds for production runs.
- Experience with typical measuring and inspection tools related to industry.
- Change over tooling to meet customer needs.
- Repair molds as required to maintain top tooling efficiency.
- Observe safe rigging and mold handling practices.
-Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Completes tasks thoroughly and efficiently.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well with others.

Skills
-Machinist/Toolmaker background with mechanic inclination, using surface grinders, lathes, millers and other tool room equipment.
- Ability to work from verbal, sketched, and computer generated prints/drawings.
- 4-year apprenticeship in a machine tool trade discipline consisting of 8000 hours completed / or 3-5 years experience in a plastic injection molding environment working in a toolroom.

High School or equivalent education.

Machinist/Toolmaker:Ability to use typical/manual machine shop equipment, grinders, lathes, mills, etc., to perform minor repairs on injection mold tooling and related industry equipment.
