Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine the layout and installation of electrical systems
- Perform electrical installations for new construction projects or renovations
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform necessary repairs or replacements
- Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment to complete electrical work
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe work environment
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to complete projects on time and within budget
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices
Skills:
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including high voltage and low voltage applications
- Experience with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment
- Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in the electrical trade
- Understanding of logic controllers and their integration into electrical systems
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete projects efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, coworkers, and supervisors
