POSITION PURPOSE

 

The Safety Manager leads the health and safety environment and program at ACE. Being in construction, safety is paramount, and the Safety Manager aims to have an accident-free work environment for all employees and subcontractors. The Safety Manager provides safety training and resources to all employees.

 

 

Essential Job Functions

Safety Communication: Facilitating effective communication of safety-related information across all levels of the organization, promoting a safety-conscious culture, and encouraging reporting of safety concerns or incidents.

Safety Audits and Inspections: Conducting regular safety audits and inspections of construction sites, equipment, and processes to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.

Contractor and Subcontractor Safety Management: Collaborating with subcontractors and contractors to ensure they comply with safety standards, providing guidance, and evaluating their safety programs and performance

Perform routine job site safety inspections. Coach employees and provide corrective guidelines when safety issues are noted.

Provide safety preplanning for upcoming projects and tasks to ensure all necessary processes, safety equipment, and supplies are understood and available.

Train individuals and crews on proper safety techniques and safety topics that align with OSHA and other federal, state, and local standards, as well as company-specific safety policies.

Review and investigate all jobsite accidents and near-misses. Analyze and recommend corrective actions, communication throughout ACE, and any necessary safety policy changes.

Analyze situations and suggest alternative work methods for safer conditions while working directly with superintendents and other job site managers.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in occupational safety and health or related field with five (5) years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This job is completely remote.  Must be able to schedule and make scheduled and unscheduled visits to all job sites.
