Continuous Improvement Coordinator

Continuous Improvement (CI) Coordinator (Co‐op/Intern) to support our Operational Excellence (OPEX) initiatives across a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role provides hands‐on exposure to Lean principles, manufacturing processes, and cross‐functional collaboration while helping drive a culture of continuous improvement.Position Overview:Reporting to the Site OPEX Manager, the CI Coordinator will support continuous improvement activities using Lean manufacturing tools, structured problem‐solving, and operational best practices. This role will assist in planning, executing, and sustaining improvements from Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs) and Kaizen events that impact key operational metrics: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost (Productivity), and Inventory—In this role, you will:• Apply the Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS) framework to support plant performance improvements and drive CI principles into daily operations.• Work closely with the CI Manager and cross‐functional teams including Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality.• Support and learn various manufacturing processes, new technologies, and participate in root‐cause investigations.• Assist in implementing process changes and documenting manufacturing processes, including creating statistical process charts and updating standard work.• Support employee training on Lean tools and reinforce concepts introduced during Kaizen and RIE activities.• Track and follow up on action items generated from improvement events to ensure timely completion and sustainability.Qualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree or current enrollment in an accredited full‐time bachelor’s degree program.• Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Candidates must reside within 50 miles of 20705 (Beltsville, MD) to be considered.Preferred qualifications:• Coursework or background in Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical fields.• Strong computer skills; programming experience preferred.• Experience with drafting or modeling tools.• Basic coding skills and understanding of statistics.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint).• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing concepts.Skills:• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including virtual communication.• Ability to create and deliver presentations.• Strong interpersonal and relationship‐building skills, particularly with production operators.Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
