ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal regulations, and company policies
- Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of hourly employees.
- Ability to communicate effectively
o Be able communicate hazard/changes to oncoming shifts
- Positioned in a mine maintenance department supporting all surface equipment
- Maintain communication equipment in operable condition
- Assist in the preventive maintenance program for assigned area
- Be able to read/understand construction plans (topographic map/blueprints)
- Manage and ensure safe working environment for company employees and contractors
- Oversee Dam inspections and instrumentation readings
- See that haul roads are properly maintained
- Oversee and follow all Federal and State approved construction plans
o Material placement / fill depth
o Push out
o Compaction
o Maintain grades and elevation per approved plan
- Complete inspections
o Belt lines and all transfer points
o Pumps and collection ponds
o Impoundment pool level and water quality
o Drainage points
o Slopes
o Mobile equipment
EXPERIENCE:
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- MSHA Surface certification required
- Must be 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED, preferred
- Regular and punctual attendance
- Reliable transportation
- Construction or related experience is preferred
- Have equipment (operating/mechanical) knowledge
- Haul Trucks – CAT 777 and 740
- Dozers
- Graders
- Frontend loader
- Underground training is not required
- Have stockpile knowledge
- Basic computer skills (Email, Excel and Word)
- Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
- Job duties will be performed on or above the surface. Those interested must be able to obtain all applicable Federal and State underground and surface certifications and successfully complete industry approved training courses.
- Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship
JOB SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as schedule requires (subject to applicant’s religious practices)
- Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule (subject to the applicant’s religious practices)
- Work environment is on or above the surface
- Must be able to work on heights
- Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead
- Ability to push/pull as needed
- Standing, bending, step climbing, crawling and working overhead
- Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50 pounds as needed
