ACP is proud to offer a summer internship program which runs for approximately 8 weeks from Tuesday, June 16 – Thursday, August 6, 2026. These positions are required to work on a hybrid office schedule out of our Washington, DC headquarters and, as such, applicants must be local to the DC area or able to relocate to DC for the 8-week period. Internships are paid $20/hour on a semi-monthly pay schedule.
Position Overview
The Market Intelligence & Research Intern works with ACP’s Market Intelligence team to contribute to research, data review, and market analysis efforts that support ACP’s policy, advocacy, and communications work. This role provides exposure to how clean power market data is collected, validated, and translated into reports and insights used across the organization.
Working closely with research analysts, the intern will contribute to ongoing data projects and reporting initiatives, gaining insight into clean energy markets while building skills in data organization, research, and analytical thinking.

Over the course of the summer, the intern will contribute to two primary focus areas that provide exposure to research projects from start to finish. The intern will participate in the development of ACP’s Quarterly Clean Power Market Report and support a large-scale project database review effort focused on improving data quality and completeness.

- Contribute to the collection and review of data on existing and planned clean power projects, including utility-scale solar, land-based wind, offshore wind, and battery storage.
- Participate in the development of ACP’s Quarterly Clean Power Market Report, contributing to data review, analysis, and written content.
- Help conduct comprehensive data validation efforts to ensure project-level information remains accurate and up to date.
- Review project records to confirm ownership, operational status, and other key attributes.
- Contribute written analysis to fact sheets, market reports, blog posts, and related communications as needed.
- Respond to data requests from internal teams, ACP members, regional partners, and other stakeholders with guidance.
- Help organize datasets, documentation, and internal reference materials to support ongoing research efforts.

Required:
- Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, with an interest in clean energy, environmental studies, economics, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with data and spreadsheets
- Ability to manage repetitive or detail-oriented tasks while maintaining accuracy
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Coursework or experience related to energy markets, data analysis, or research
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Interest in market research, data management, or clean energy policy
