Summary:
The main responsibility of the Markit EDM Architect Advisor is to lead efforts supporting the design, development, deployment, and support of the Markit EDM platform. You will work with external data vendors and various internal IT and business downstream consumers. A deep understanding of investment data and how to effectively master it is essential. This role requires leadership skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Information Technology and Investment Management business organizations.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership in the development, maintenance, support, and roadmap of Markit EDM. This includes all data integrations into and out of the application.
- Consult with IT team members (including management) and lead the decision-making process in applying the proper use of tools and technology to solve business problems.
- Leadership and representation of the team for enterprise investment management initiatives. Serve as System Architect for Markit EDM application.
- Stay up to date on the latest trends and technologies impacting applications development and investment data mastering.
- Assist in establishing standards and guidelines for the design & development, tuning, deployment and maintenance of data and application solutions.
- Collaborate with team regularly for information sharing, establishing standard methodologies, and setting technology direction.
- Application and Data Vendor relationship management
- Provides technology, tool, architecture, and business continuity leadership for the team.
- Adhere to the IT department policies, procedures and development practices, including application life cycle standards and procedures.

Education & Experience:
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree preferably in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 5 years of IT experience with progressive responsibilities in designing technology solutions and leading technology initiatives. Markit EDM experience preferred.
- Experience with Agile development methodology and concepts.
- Understanding of information systems life-cycle management standard processes and methodologies
- Experience with enterprise data management technologies, including database platforms (SQL Server, Oracle or DB2) and strong SQL skills.
- Experience building and maintaining key business relationships.
- Experience working in an Asset Management firm, preferred
- Experience with Financial Services Data Domains including Investments and Product, preferred
- Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), messaging frameworks (JMS, MQ), and web services, preferred
- Knowledge of configuration management and version control process, preferred
- Working conditions: office environment. Overtime as needed. Negligible travel as needed. On call as needed.

This position will work in a hybrid work environment. If hired outside of Kansas City, MO, candidate will be expected to travel to Kansas City at least once per quarter.
The salary range for this position is $150,210 - $191,070 depending on qualifications and work location. This position is eligible for cash incentive providing the potential to earn more.
