SUMMARY:
A supervisory position that requires responsibility for monitoring production department staff on designated shifts, and the operation of the production equipment. This responsibility includes but is not limited to training, programming (as necessary), production, rates, documentation, quality control gauging, teardown and set-up, and maintenance associated with the equipment. Must have the technical ability, be able to utilize critical thinking, and be decisive in decision making in order to solve practical problems, as well as deal with a variety of concentric variable in situations where only standardization exists. The ability to formulate an assortment of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.
RELATIONSHIPS: This individual will report to the Plant Manager and will work together with other shift supervisors in the same position.
AUTHORITY: This individual has authority over department production employees. This individual will assist with the scheduling and placement for production employees on their assigned shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Will include the following but is not limited to:
Work under the direct supervision of Plant Manager, and follow directions with accuracy when working independently.
Supervise product manufacturing within the department.
Daily monitoring of department employees and production of shift.
Set-up and tear down of machines to support production
Collection and assessment for completion of daily departmental production data.
Follow-up and shift reporting for prior and upcoming shifts.
Interpret work instructions and processes as provided by ISO and Quality Management
System.
Record all necessary data pertaining to supervisory duties to include advanced training, disciplinary actions, and recommendations.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and blueprints.
Ensuring employees follow all company policies.
Arriving to work on time for every scheduled shift.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Must be qualified to use all necessary gauging support production, including but not limited to bore, depth, pitch, off-set changes, etc.
Skilled to use measuring tools to determine that Quality Assurance specifications are met.
Competent to use measuring tools to properly set, modify fixtures, and tooling.
Proficient with all applicable department equipment.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the field.
Familiar with standards including the Geo-Metric III Instruction
Ability to write routine reports and correspond as necessary to properly fill out production reports and request additional support as needed.
Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
Capacity to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common factions, and decimals.
Capability to enter data into a computer.
Quick adaptation to new technology.
Problem solving skills.
Independent decision making aptitude.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The associate frequently is required to sit, walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to support production needs.
The supervisor must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 45 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Production paced operations to support customer (internal and external) demands. Decision making ability to support production as needed.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
