The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) seeks an accomplished academic-clinical leader to serve as Dean of the College of Nursing at a defining moment in the College’s 50-year history. The new Dean will author the next chapter of a high-performing nursing enterprise with established national standing and clinical distinction.
A nationally acclaimed College enrolling nearly 8,400 students, UAH is recognized for academic excellence, research productivity, and exceptional graduate outcomes. The College of Nursing enrolls more than 800 students across BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD programs and is accredited by CCNE and distinguished by robust clinical partnerships, advanced simulation, community-engaged learning, and a 100% NCLEX pass rate, with graduates serving in leading health systems, academic medical centers, and health sciences-center environments.
The Dean will exercise broad leadership across academic quality, faculty advancement, research expansion, enrollment strategy, and the continued advancement of health-system partnerships at the College of Nursing and across academic and clinical programs.
Qualified leaders hold a Ph.D. with credentials for appointment as a tenured full professor and demonstrate line accountability for operating leadership of academic programs or clinical education units within a college of nursing, including experience stewarding program finances and resources in a complex academic–clinical environment. A minimum of three years of administrative leadership with direct reports is required.
