Quality Control Inspector
American Apple is a family owned grower, packer, and shipper of fresh market apples and asparagus. We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector for our upcoming asparagus packing season in May and June.
This fast paced, six-week seasonal role offers an excellent opportunity for dependable individuals who are ready to work hard and build significant income in a short timeframe!
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
*Assist in setting up packing line with proper packaging supplies, etc.; fill out necessary paperwork prior to the start up of production each day.
*Perform and record quality inspection checks on the finish product to assure compliance to quality standards such as packaging, labeling, physical features of the product (proper sizing & color, no defects, etc.) & required weights of bags/cartons are correct and within spec.
*Immediately communicate any product quality/color issues, incorrect weights and or improper packaging, labels and stickers with the Production Supervisor.
*Work with a computer and scanner system entering information when necessary, assist in tagging finish product as needed.
*Assist in daily clean up of production areas and ensure the necessary paperwork is being filled out for documentation of these tasks.
*ALWAYS Follow Good Manufacturing Practices rules and regulations
*Help monitor packaging/material quantities and assist in maintaining supplies in a neat, clean and organized fashion. Help keep warehouse, packing rooms and docks clear of hazards and debris.
*Report any packaging, equipment or facility issues to your Supervisor immediately
*Perform other duties as assigned by your Supervisor's
***This role begins at 5:30 AM and requires dependable attendance and punctuality—ideal for individuals who are comfortable with early morning schedules
Qualifications:
*Quality Control experience preferred, but not required
*High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
*Able to work in a fast-paced environment that is safety, quality, and customer focused
*Ability to understand and follow through on orders
*Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
*Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
*Ability to read, write and speak English fluently; Candidates that are bilingual (Spanish / English) are preferred, but not required
*Work overtime as necessary - First shift only, 5-6 days a week
* Possess a high level of honesty, integrity, energy, and personal accountability
*Consistently and reliability at work and on time is required - reliable transportation is a MUST
Pay: From $18.50 per hour
