Forklift Operator
American Apple is a family owned grower, packer, and shipper of fresh market apples and asparagus. We are seeking 2 Forklift Operators for our upcoming asparagus packing season in May and June.
This fast paced, six-week seasonal role offers an excellent opportunity for dependable individuals who are ready to work hard and build significant income in a short timeframe!
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:
*Safely operate forklifts inside and outside of the facility
*Work on a computer and scanner system entering information & tag all necessary product
*Inspect product and give feed back to the supervisor
*Complete paperwork accurately for the movement of product and empty containers
*Maintain empty raw product container area- keep clean and organized
*Load and unload finish product in 2 & 3 tiered racking systems
*Load outbound trucks with finish product
*Unload raw product, product containers and packaging from incoming trucks
*Assist with Preventative Maintenance of forklifts and other machinery as necessary
*Perform daily inspections of forklifts, hand jacks, electric pallet jacks, etc. before use and complete necessary paperwork
*Follow Good Manufacturing Practices rules and regulations
*Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean and organized fashion. Keep warehouse, packing rooms and docks clear of hazards and debris
*Assist Production Manager with daily set up, tear down & cleaning of equipment
*Report any equipment or facility issues to your Supervisor immediately
*Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
*Minimum of 2 years forklift operating experience
*High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
*Able to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment that is safety, quality, and customer focused
*Ability to understand and follow through on orders
*Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
*Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
*Ability to read, write and speak English fluently preferred
*Candidates that are bilingual (Spanish / English) are preferred, but not required
*Work overtime as necessary - First shift only, 5-6 days a week
* Possess a high level of honesty, integrity, energy, and personal accountability
*Consistent and reliability at work and on time is required - reliable transportation is a MUST
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
