What You’ll Accomplish With Us
As a Claims Analyst, you’ll be at the core of our mission. Here are the main responsibilities:
- Process and pay claims within established guidelines, including verifying in‑force coverage and calculating death benefits, interest, dividends, premium variances, and fund interest.
- Prepare letters, update claims systems, and ensure claims are ready for processing.
- Conduct research on beneficiaries, physician and medical records, legal documents, and other data required to make accurate claims decisions.
- Process paid incontestable claims, complete related correspondence, perform accounting tasks, and maintain files.
- Approve claims up to $20,000 during the probationary period, with eligibility for higher approval limits based on performance.
- File and process reinsurance when applicable.
- Prepare and mail IRS Form 712 and maintain year‑end tax reporting data.
- Monitor suspense accounts and maintain accurate documentation.
- Cross‑train with other Claims Analysts to provide departmental support as needed.
- Communicate with customers via inbound/outbound calls, email, written correspondence, and fax to ensure successful claim resolution.
- Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, including inquiries, complaints, and actions taken.
- Maintain familiarity with company products and policies and know where to obtain assistance for complex inquiries.
- Participate in special projects and assist with overflow work across Claims functions.
- Conduct all business in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and contractual obligations, upholding ethical behavior and the Compliance Program.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is known for their attention to detail and high accuracy
- Stands out for their research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Is recognized for their ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks under pressure
- Has 2 years of claims experience (life claims experience preferred but not required)
- Charter of the French language clause (if needed): (Beginner, intermediate, or advanced) English proficiency, as the role involves communicating with policyholders, agents, funeral homes, and internal business partners on a daily basis.
