Summary:

Creating 2D and 3D drawings, according to specified dimensions needed from our customer. The ability to analyze documentation such as blueprints, proposals, and specifications, developing the sheet metal layout, and the method of manufacture for the components, while working closely with sales and manufacturing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

¨ Create sheet metal layouts and detailed drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Design2Fab software

¨ Review job specifications and prints for accuracy; modify customer prints for fabrication

¨ Communicate with sales and shop team members regarding any design changes or issues that arise

¨ Create samples and/ or working models

¨ Analyze problems and cultivate alternative solutions

¨ Produce detailed drawings per specifications of customers

¨ Prepare routine layouts, detail drawings, assemble drawings, sketches & diagrams

¨ Perform review of drawing packages for shop execution, resolving of technical issues

¨ Good understanding of metal fabrication theory, including flat pattern generation, tonnage calculation requirements (cutting and forming)

¨ Other job duties as assigned per the needs of the Operations Department and the Company

MINMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

¨ Associate Degree in related field or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment

¨ 3 years of progressive experience in programming preferred

¨ Proficiency with AutoCAD is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

¨ 3D and 2D solid modeling, Solidworks or sheet metal layout experience a plus

¨ Strong technical, data gathering and analysis, and planning skills

¨ Self-directed individual with strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and quickly under the pressure of tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities

¨ Analytical and problem-solving skills, along with an ability to deal with confusing and contradictory data

¨ Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects

¨ Ability to read and understand engineering drawings

¨ Design to Fabrication experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be exposed to normal office conditions and usual office equipment such as telephone, personal computer, printers/copiers, reports and files. The team member will be constantly required to sit, talk, hear, and type/write. The team member will be frequently required to stand, walk, touch/handle/grasp (using hands and fingers), and reach with hands and arms. The team member must occasionally bend or squat and lift and/or push up to 10 pounds of general office items. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, far, and field of vision. This position requires regular and punctual team member presence.

This position involves a high degree of sitting and computer work, which requires the physical ability to maintain posture and visual acuity. The performance of this position may also include exposure to the manufacturing areas which requires use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses (provided by the company).

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
