Medical Technologist/Clinical Lab Scientist - Kentfield
Position Summary
According to departmental policies and professional standards, performs and reviews various moderate to highly complex test procedures in one or more sections of the laboratory without direct supervision. Testing must be requested by a licensed physician and requires a degree of skill that is commensurate with the individual’s education, training, experience and technical abilities. This position is per diem and is based in our Kentfield Hospital location and will report directly to the Lab Manager.

Identify learning needs and teach patients and families. Ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of teams and individuals. Working knowledge and ability to apply professional standards of practice in job situations.
Qualifications
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Current, valid and active National Board certified or eligible for national certification as an MT or CLS (MT/ASCP or CLS/ASCP) or Categorical Certification in the related clinical laboratory discipline. Current BLS certification from an approved vendor preferred.
ATTENDANCE
Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Language Skills
English is the primary language of the facility. Ability to read and write, communicate clearly with coworkers and customers and to respond to appropriate questions regarding work process or work product.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals as appropriate to the position.

- Experience preferred.
- Current BLS certification from an approved vendor preferred.
- Ability to project a professional image.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational, prioritizing and analytical skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
- Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
- Freedom from illegal use of and effects of use of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
