POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: plan, organize, lead and evaluate all aspects of the Cardiac Cath Lab in order to provide quality diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in a safe efficient environment. The Supervisor will also perform the clinical responsibilities as described in the Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist job description and be able to take call when needed. Must be able to perform jobs in all patient care and operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations. Also, must participate in the Respiratory Protection Program, which may include the wearing of a respirator. This is a non-union position.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Hires, trains and schedules all technical staff to perform all procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
2. Develops a system with procedures for the care and maintenance of department equipment.
3. Identifies problems and develops procedures to assure quality patient care and smooth flowing operations.
4. Develops departmental policy and procedure manual which include but not limited to;
- organization chart
- job descriptions
- infection control policy
5. Maintains high personnel standards through continuing education and inservice programs.
6. Submits annual departmental operating budget and capital equipment requests.
7. Prepares and presents monthly reports and activity.
8. Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies and equipment.
9. Advises and assists Administration and the Medical Staff in developing new systems and acquiring new equipment.
10. Promotes good communication between staff, physicians, Administration and other departments.
11. Attends regularly scheduled meetings.
12. Maintains accurate patient records within the department.
13. Responsible for written evaluation of each staff member at least yearly.
14. Takes disciplinary action when necessary, up to and including termination of employees.
15. Maintains awareness and participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) to ensure a safe patient environment.
16. Attends and actively participates in team conferences and staff meetings.
17. Participates actively in orientation and on-the-job training of assigned personnel.
18. Adheres to all Dameron Hospital Association policies and procedures, safety rules, JCAHO standards, Department of Health Services (DHS) regulations and any other regulatory agency.
19. Provides methodology for disemination of information providing opportunities for discussions of division problems,orientation of new projects, procedures, etc.
20. Performs all tasks demonstrating service orientation to fellow employees and staff members to provide excellentcustomer service.
21. Demonstrates, supports and models the mission, vision, values and rules of conduct of Dameron Hospital Association.
22. Communicates appropriately and effectively to support the department mission.
Clinical Responsibilities
Supervise and support staff in providing patient care during all Cath Lab procedures.
Serve as an expert resource for troubleshooting clinical and technical issues.
Ensure adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and hospital policies.
Staff Support & Coordination Responsibilities
Coordinate daily case assignments based on patient needs and staff competencies.
Collaborate and coordinate with physicians on add-on cases.
Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to new and existing staff members.
Ensure proper staff coverage for cases and communicate workflow needs to the Nurse Manager.
Support a team-based environment that promotes collaboration and accountability.
Operational Responsibilities
Oversee daily clinical workflow to maintain efficiency and minimize delays.
Assist in equipment troubleshooting and ensure readiness for procedures.
Coordinate Interventional Radiology scheduling.
Oversee scheduling for Cath lab, Radiology, Nuclear Stress tests, and Echocardiograms.
Complete Cath lab procedural charges and collaborate with billing staff to ensure appropriate billing.
Assist with Cath lab inventory management.
Collaborate with the Nurse Manager on staffing, supply needs, and process improvement initiatives.
Quality & Performance Responsibilities
Monitor patient care quality and escalate concerns as appropriate.
Participate in performance improvement and staff competency evaluations.
Provide input to the Nurse Manager regarding staff performance and development needs.
Ensure compliance with hospital standards, safety requirements, and best practices.
FTE 0.1 - 8 Hours - Days (08:00AM start time)
Qualifications:Experience: The supervisor must have at least 3 year's experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab. Supervisor experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates:
- Current BLS Certification through AHA required
Salary : $45
