American Academy (AA) is accepting applications for a full-time Middle School Math & History Teacher for the 2026–27 school year. This position is ideal for a dynamic educator who is passionate about both mathematics and history and is eager to engage students across disciplines throughout the school day.
AA middle school teachers work collaboratively in teams to ensure that every student receives a consistent, high-quality educational experience. Students are ability-grouped and transition together between core subjects (math, science, English, language arts, and history), requiring teachers to differentiate instruction to meet varying academic needs.
This teacher will work closely with both the Math and History departments to provide continuity of instruction, support curriculum development, and contribute to a positive and rigorous academic environment.

Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the mission and philosophy of American Academy with enthusiasm, commitment, and integrity
- Teach American Academy’s math and history curricula with fidelity
- Provide instruction in middle school math (including Big Ideas, Algebra, and Geometry) and history
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of ability-grouped classes using data-driven practices
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, department leads, and administration to ensure alignment and rigor across content areas
- Work closely with another history teacher and math colleagues to maintain continuity and strengthen both programs
- Participate in ongoing professional development, including observing colleagues and refining instructional practices
- Uphold and model American Academy’s Character and Manners
- Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
- Build and maintain strong relationships with students, families, colleagues, and administration
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and concerns
- Maintain accurate and timely records, including grades and assignments in Infinite Campus and updates on classroom webpages
- Integrate technology effectively into instruction (e.g., Google Classroom, interactive tools)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Math, History, or a related field
- Valid Colorado teaching license
- Ability to teach both middle school math and history (appropriate endorsements preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Endorsements in Secondary Math and/or History
- Experience teaching at the secondary level
- Familiarity with Core Knowledge philosophy
- Experience using assessment data to drive instruction
- Strong technology skills and experience integrating technology into the classroom
- Experience with differentiation across varying ability levels
- Familiarity with Big Ideas curriculum, Interactive Whiteboards, and Google Classroom
- Prior professional experience in a math-related field or strong content background
Salary : $55,000 - $75,000
