As a Medical Assistant in our primary care clinic, you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare providers and ensuring efficient patient care delivery. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of administrative and clinical tasks aimed at facilitating smooth clinic operations and providing quality patient service.
- High school diploma or graduate equivalent degree required.
- Minimum of 1-year experience as a Medical Assistant or Front Office Assistant as a medical facility/clinic.
- Proficient in basic medical procedures such, taking vital signs, venipuncture, EKGs, wound care, and specimen collection. Experience working with EMR systems.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members.
- Fluent in Arabic both verbal and written.
- Handle high volume incoming phone calls, emails, and other correspondence in a professional and courteous manner, triaging messages and routing them to the appropriate staff members.
- Assist in the coordination of patient referrals, appointments, and follow-up care. Verify health insurances.
- Answer patient inquiries and address concerns to the best of your ability, escalating complex issues to the appropriate healthcare personnel.
- Offer support and guidance to patients on preventive healthcare measures.
- Ensure timely documentation of all clinical encounters, test results, and procedures performed during patient visits. Attaching relevant faxes to patient files.
- Conduct initial assessment of patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight, and record them appropriately in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Escort patients to examination rooms and assist in preparing them for examinations.
- Assist healthcare providers during medical examinations and procedures as required.
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms before and after patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and adequate stock of supplies.
- Provide patients with information regarding clinic procedures, treatments, and medication instructions as directed by healthcare providers.
- Maintain and order medical, office and lab supplies.
- Fax order to hospitals as needed.
- Compiling medical records and dispatching them.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the clinic's appointment calendar efficiently.
- Adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA guidelines, to maintain patient confidentiality and ensure a safe working environment.
