Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility to promote independence and comfort.
- Support residents with medication administration following care plans and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for privacy and confidentiality.
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track health status and report concerns promptly.
- Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines and assist residents during meal times to ensure proper nutrition.
- Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts or transfer devices safely to support mobility needs while preventing injury.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and update care plans regularly.
- Engage residents in social activities and behavioral management strategies to enhance emotional well-being and reduce agitation or confusion.
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, home care, or hospice care is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of working with people with disabilities, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism spectrum disorders, or developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks safely while adhering to proper techniques.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record for transportation duties when required.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; additional certifications such as medication administration or HIPAA compliance are a plus.
- Familiarity with EMR systems, medical terminology, and case management practices enhances your effectiveness in this role.
