Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher delivers high-quality instructional services to students with diverse learning needs. The teacher collaborates with general education staff, families, and support teams to develop and implement individualized programs that foster academic, social, and behavioral growth.
This position involves providing specialized instruction, supporting individualized education plans (IEPs), and ensuring students receive the resources and accommodations necessary to thrive in the classroom.

Position Details
- Position: Special Education Teacher
- Location: Travel Assignment
- Grade Level: Junior High
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Schedule: Weekdays
- Contract Length: 36 Weeks
- Start Date: August 17, 2026
- Weekly Pay Package: Up to $2,500/week
- Housing Stipend: $1,325/week
- Meals & Incidentals Stipend: $500/week

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff
- Assess student progress and maintain required documentation
- Implement classroom accommodations and behavioral support strategies
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development
Required
- Valid state teaching certification in Special Education as required by state and district regulations
- Ability to meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- Compliance with all professional standards of practice
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum of one year of teaching experience
- Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education Teaching Certification
- Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- Current health certificate, TB screening, PPD, or chest X-ray as required
