Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher provides high-quality instructional services to students with Exceptional Support Needs (ESN) across kindergarten through grade 12. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver special education services aligned with IEP goals
- Support ESN students across K–12 settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers and multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in planning and implementation of individualized student programs
- Provide specialized instruction, tutorial support, and classroom consultation
- Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal education standards
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, district, or contract
- Minimum one year of teaching experience preferred
- Preferred certifications:
- Standard Elementary Teaching Credential
- Standard Secondary Teaching Credential
- Standard Special Teaching Credential
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Compliance with all professional standards of practice
- Current CPR certification (if applicable)
- TB clearance as required by state or district
- Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
