Special Education (SPED) Behavioral Teacher Assistant

Contract Length: 2026-27 School Year
Pay: $22 /hr, dependent on experience
The SPED Behavioral Teacher Assistant (School Aide) provides instructional and behavioral support to students with special needs under the supervision of the special education team and classroom teacher. This role helps create a positive learning environment while supporting students' academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and personal care needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom, instructional, and behavioral support to students.
- Assist with IEP and behavior plan implementation.
- Support students with social-emotional development and positive behavior strategies.
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and therapeutic needs as required.
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and school staff to promote student success.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to work effectively with students requiring behavioral and instructional support.
- Current CPR certification, health certificate, and TB screening if applicable.
- Must comply with all professional standards and meet federal, state, and local requirements.
Preferred:
- Experience working with children, special education students, or behavioral support programs.
- Knowledge of PBIS, behavior management, or de-escalation techniques.
