Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM

About The Role

The classroom includes 8 students and 3 paraprofessionals, and we are looking for an educator who can provide strong leadership, foster a supportive and inclusive environment, and deliver high-quality instruction tailored to individual needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a substantially separate classroom.
- Support and guide paraprofessionals in daily activities.
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with students’ IEPs.
- Cultivate a diverse and inclusive learning environment.
- Ensure compliance with the IEP process and documentation requirements.
- Utilize strategies to support students with significant needs, including:
- Non-verbal communication and use of communication devices.
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related diagnoses.
- Address behavioral challenges such as non-compliance, aggression, and elopement using de-escalation techniques.
- Apply principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) when appropriate.
- Maintain a calm, patient, and supportive approach in a dynamic classroom setting.
- MA DESE license in Mild, Moderate, or Severe Special Education (other DESE licensure with relevant experience will be considered).
- Experience working with students with high needs and behavioral challenges.
- Familiarity with ABA principles and behavior management strategies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain composed and effective in challenging situations.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
- Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
- Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
- State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
- Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
