A paraeducator supports classroom instruction under the supervision of a licensed teacher. They assist in delivering lessons, managing student behavior, and providing individualized support—especially for students with special needs.
Key Duties:
Assist with instructional activities and classroom management
Support students individually or in small groups
Help implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
Supervise students during lunch, recess, and transitions
Prepare learning materials and classroom displays
Provide personal care assistance when needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED (some roles may require college credits or certification)
Experience working with children preferred
Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills
