GENERAL SUMMARY:
Henry Ford St. John Children's Hospital in Detroit, delivers advanced pediatric specialty care for infants, children and teens. Our Children’s Hospital has an adjoining birthing center with a NICU and special care nursery. We offer a wide range of pediatric services, including a full-service hospital, emergency care, urgent care, more than 15 different pediatric specialties and a regionally recognized cancer care program.
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates with the health care team. Demonstrates clinical competence. May require a professional certification which is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard for the position, works independently and in collaboration with principal investigator when appropriate.
This is an outpatient setting, in a Pediatric resident clinic.
Hours: 3 days a week -8AM-4:30PM no weekends/holidays/on call

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Bachelor's Degree preferred. Successful completion of Henry Ford Ambulatory orientation.
Maintains and demonstrates current clinical knowledge in area of specialty.
Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and medical group personnel.
Preferred experience in the specialty.
Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
Preferred experience with working with children
Preferred experience with triage
Preferred experience with Epic.
Preferred experience with vaccines
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
Current BLS or ACLS per Henry Ford Health policy.
Certification will be required when it is a regulatory requirement in the State of Michigan or a documented community standard, i.e., Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN).
