ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Director of Investor Relations will provide leadership and guidance for the full investor-lifecycle experience: from CRM and data-systems management through direct investor communications, fund/platform lifecycle support, and project management of key Investor Relation (“IR”) initiatives. This role is both strategic and hands-on and requires deep operational discipline, strong communication skills, and familiarity with investor-facing platforms.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Leadership & Project Management
- Provide leadership for investor reporting, onboarding, data requests, and CRM administration.
- Manage cross-functional IR projects: e.g., annual investor meetings, capital raise launches, newsletter campaigns, website/portal enhancements, investor event logistics.
- Set standard operating procedures, timelines, deliverables, and quality controls for the IR team.
Investor Communications & Engagement
- Oversee all investor-facing communications: quarterly updates, annual reports, capital call and distribution notices, fund factsheets, presentations, webinars, and ad-hoc investor inquiries.
- Develop strong relationships with Limited Partners, understanding their priorities, reporting needs, and long-term objectives.
- Serve as point of escalation for investor questions and act as relationship partner for institutions, family offices, and high net worth investors.
- Develop strategy for investor engagement and retention; collaborate with marketing, capital markets, and deployment teams to deepen investor relationships.
- Partner with Marketing to produce thought leadership content, industrial market insights, and firm-wide communications.
- Maintain a high standard of responsiveness and professionalism in all investor interactions.
Capital Raising & Marketing
- Support capital-raising strategy for new and existing funds and programmatic joint ventures.
- Prepare and manage offering materials, pitch decks, case studies, and due diligence questionnaires.
- Manage investor subscription and onboarding process for each fundraise.
- Work with finance, accounting, and investment teams to gather fund/platform performance data, capital-stack metrics, IRR/return analyses, key investor disclosures.
- Support fundraising activities, due-diligence questionnaire (DDQ) responses, RFP/RFI materials and virtual data room setups.
- Create and monitor investor KPIs (e.g., investor satisfaction, retention rate, contribution to follow-on capital) and propose improvements.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure investor communications and dataflows comply with internal policy, regulatory requirements, and third-party audit expectations.
- Stay up to date on best practices in investor relations, investor-reporting standards, and technology innovations.
Requirements
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree a plus.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in investor relations, capital markets, real-estate investment management, or related field.
- Prior experience working with investor CRMs/portals and in fund/fund-platform environments strongly preferred. Real estate or alternative assets experience a significant plus.
- Experience in a fast paced and ever-changing environment.
- Strong project-management skills: able to lead multiple concurrent initiatives, set timelines, delegate tasks, and drive outcomes.
- Deep comfort with CRM/data systems (Juniper Square or similar) and building automated processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to distill complex investment data into clear, compelling materials for investors.
- Analytical mindset: able to work with large datasets, build dashboards and support decision-making.
- Strong interpersonal skills, comfort interacting with institutional investors, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with real estate investment structures (funds, acquisitions, and joint ventures), investor reporting practices and dataflows preferred.
- Strong desire to contribute to scaling the business and enhancing operational excellence
GENERAL: This role is based in Indianapolis with up to 25% travel to support investor meetings and industry conferences and events.
