Position Overview
Amboy Jr. High School is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and student-centered educator to join our
faculty as a 7th and 8th Grade Social Studies Teacher. The ideal candidate will possess a deep
understanding of historical and geographical concepts and a genuine enthusiasm for guiding middle
school students through critical inquiry. In this role, you will help students connect historical events to
modern-day civic responsibilities, analyze primary sources, and develop strong argumentative writing
skills.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Curriculum Design
- Deliver Engaging Lessons: Design and implement inquiry-based units in alignment with state
- Foster Critical Thinking: Teach students how to analyze primary and secondary sources, identify
- Incorporate Media Literacy: Guide students in navigating digital information safely, evaluating
- Differentiate Instruction: Adapt lessons and assessments to meet the diverse learning needs of
learners.
Classroom Culture & Student Support
- Manage with Empathy: Establish clear, consistent classroom routines and a positive behavior
