Position Title: Graphic Design Technology Core Specialist
Job Type: Part-Time, Contract
Salary: Based on Experience ($20 - $25 hour)

Position Overview
This is a 6-12-month contract role designed as a transitional opportunity for recent graduates seeking to enter the professional field of design. At NewSchool of Architecture & Design, we foster an environment centered on learning and professional growth. The ideal candidate will continue to refine their skills while contributing as both a Graphic Designer and Technology Core Specialist. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience and build valuable connections with design firms, faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Operate and maintain printing software to accurately process and produce student projects.
- Input precise product dimensions, weights, and quantities to ensure correct output for all print requests.
- Support the creation of graphic design layouts for institutional marketing and communication materials, as directed by supervisors.
- Assist all NewSchool Departments with graphic design needs as requested.
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite to assist students, faculty, and staff with design and printing needs.
- Prepare and manage daily print jobs, including student identification badges.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Stay current with updates in print software, equipment, and best practices.
- Assist in additional areas as requested by supervisors.
- Submit weekly task reports to supervisors to ensure accountability and productivity.
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Effective problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and contribute to process improvements.
- Consistent accuracy in fulfilling student print requests and correcting errors prior to delivery.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to accept and apply constructive feedback.
- Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Skills and Specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat DC).
- Strong written communication skills, including proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Adequate keyboarding and data entry skills.
