OverviewAmbition 24 Hours Inc is building a pool of qualified Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) candidates for upcoming assignments at state-operated facilities across Texas, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential facilities supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and an adolescent psychiatric treatment center. We are recruiting now so we can offer you work quickly as and when roles come in.
Assignment type- PRN (as-needed) shifts to start
- Short-term and long-term contract assignments will also become available
- Flexible scheduling: pick up the shifts and assignments that suit you
Provide direct nursing care to individuals in a state-operated psychiatric or residential care setting.
Key responsibilities- Administer medications and treatments as ordered
- Monitor and record vital signs, health status and changes in condition
- Carry out care plans and report concerns to the RN or physician
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation
- Support a safe, respectful and therapeutic environment
- Active Texas LVN license or multistate (compact) LPN/LVN license
- Current BLS certification
- Psychiatric, long-term care or IDD experience preferred
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, TB screening and any immunization requirements set by the facility
- Willingness to complete facility orientation and required training before your first shift
Hourly pay
- Day, Evening or Overnight shift (8 hours): $36.00 – $42.00 per hour
- Weekend shift (8 hours): $37.80 – $44.10 per hour
- Holiday: $54.00 – $63.00 per hour
Your rate within each range depends on your experience, credentials and the assignment.
Shifts are 8 hours: Day (e.g. 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM), Evening (e.g. 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) or Overnight (e.g. 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM). Shift times vary by facility.
Holiday hours run from 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on the holiday.
Hours over 40 in a week are worked only when scheduled and approved by the facility in advance; approved overtime is paid at 1.5 times your hourly rate.
