Ambidextrous Inc. Landscaping
Arundel, ME Full Time
POSTED ON 7/7/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 9/6/2026

Ambidextrous Inc. is a premier, full-service landscaping and hardscaping contractor located in Arundel, Maine. Founded in 2005 we work primarily in Kennebunk and Kennebunkport.

We are seeking an experienced, high-level Hardscape Foreman to take on a leadership role with real responsibility and long-term opportunity.

This is not a typical foreman position. The right candidate will begin by leading hardscape crews and projects, with a clear path to taking over key aspects of day-to-day operations—including scheduling, crew management, customer interaction, and project oversight.

The goal of this role is to develop into someone who can confidently run field operations and keep the business moving in the owner’s absence.

What Makes This Role Different

  • Small, efficient team (8–10 employees)
  • Direct communication with the owner—no layers of management
  • Opportunity to take on real responsibility quickly
  • Clear path to a long-term leadership role within the company

ResponsibilitiesField Leadership

  • Lead and manage hardscape installation crews
  • Oversee patios, walkways, walls, steps, and full project builds
  • Ensure jobs are completed efficiently, on schedule, and to high standards
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems in the field

Crew & Job Management

  • Direct daily crew activities and maintain productivity
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, and jobsite logistics
  • Maintain organization and workflow across projects

Equipment & Operations

  • Oversee equipment use, care, and basic maintenance
  • Prevent downtime through proactive management
  • Assist in planning and scheduling work

Customer Interaction

  • Communicate with clients on-site as needed
  • Handle walkthroughs, changes, and job-related discussions
  • Represent the company professionally

Growth into Operations Role

  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating multiple jobs
  • Support estimating and project planning
  • Work toward managing day-to-day operations
  • Ultimately be capable of running field operations independently

Qualifications

  • 5 years of hardscape installation experience
  • Proven ability to lead crews and run job sites
  • Strong understanding of grading, base prep, drainage, and layout
  • Experience operating equipment (skid steer, excavator, etc.)
  • Ability to read plans and execute projects accurately
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Highly Valued:

  • Previous experience running a small business or managing multiple crews
  • Estimating or project management experience

Compensation

  • $40–$44 per hour, based on experience and capability
  • Weekly incentive for reliability and attendance
  • End-of-season bonus
  • Opportunities for increased compensation as responsibilities grow

Who This Role Is For

This position is best suited for someone who:

  • Has already operated at a high level in the field
  • Takes ownership of their work and decisions
  • Wants more than just a job—looking for a long-term opportunity
  • Is capable of growing into a leadership role beyond just running a crew
