Ambidextrous Inc. is a premier, full-service landscaping and hardscaping contractor located in Arundel, Maine. Founded in 2005 we work primarily in Kennebunk and Kennebunkport.
We are seeking an experienced, high-level Hardscape Foreman to take on a leadership role with real responsibility and long-term opportunity.
This is not a typical foreman position. The right candidate will begin by leading hardscape crews and projects, with a clear path to taking over key aspects of day-to-day operations—including scheduling, crew management, customer interaction, and project oversight.
The goal of this role is to develop into someone who can confidently run field operations and keep the business moving in the owner’s absence.

ResponsibilitiesField Leadership
- Lead and manage hardscape installation crews
- Oversee patios, walkways, walls, steps, and full project builds
- Ensure jobs are completed efficiently, on schedule, and to high standards
- Troubleshoot and solve problems in the field
Crew & Job Management
- Direct daily crew activities and maintain productivity
- Coordinate materials, equipment, and jobsite logistics
- Maintain organization and workflow across projects
Equipment & Operations
- Oversee equipment use, care, and basic maintenance
- Prevent downtime through proactive management
- Assist in planning and scheduling work
Customer Interaction
- Communicate with clients on-site as needed
- Handle walkthroughs, changes, and job-related discussions
- Represent the company professionally
Growth into Operations Role
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating multiple jobs
- Support estimating and project planning
- Work toward managing day-to-day operations
- Ultimately be capable of running field operations independently
Qualifications
- 5 years of hardscape installation experience
- Proven ability to lead crews and run job sites
- Strong understanding of grading, base prep, drainage, and layout
- Experience operating equipment (skid steer, excavator, etc.)
- Ability to read plans and execute projects accurately
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
Highly Valued:
- Previous experience running a small business or managing multiple crews
- Estimating or project management experience
Compensation
- $40–$44 per hour, based on experience and capability
- Weekly incentive for reliability and attendance
- End-of-season bonus
