What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist, Payroll, PT, FTE .6 position at Amberwell Health Atchison?
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for the preparation, computation and disbursement of the bi-weekly payroll, associated payroll deductions, federal and state tax filings, federal and state quarterly and annual form filings. Maintain appropriate payroll files and supporting documentation.
Also serves as a backup for other human resources associated duties.
PRIMARY DUTIES: may include but are not limited to:
- Ensure bi-weekly payroll is processed in a timely manner.
- Review timekeeper system for accuracies, approvals, compliance with policies, verify hours and import timecards for processing.
- Review computed wages, payroll documentation and correct errors to ensure the accuracy of earnings.
- Ensure that all changes to payroll are processed correctly.
- Make changes as appropriate on time keeper system and payroll system.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and files, including check logs and reconciliation of payroll account(s).
- Prepare and file federal and state payroll taxes in a timely manner.
- Review and audit-reconcile master payroll files, payroll deduction accounts, payroll data entries, year-to-date totals and make corrections as necessary.
- Prepare journal entries for adjustments to reconciled payroll general ledger accounts.
- Paycom prepares them for us but would leave it on there because if there is notices I would have to handle it. And all of the W2 are handled in payroll as well.
- Prepare various payroll reports as requested.
- Prepare garnishments and payroll deduction check requests as required.
- Respond appropriately to questions from employees related to payroll matters; ETO balances, cash-out requirements, payroll deductions, etc.
- Process special/manual payroll checks as required; missed hours, bonuses, etc.
- Assist with mail processing and distribution.
Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

- Minimum Required Experience: Experience in 2 years of extensive Paycom experience.
- Preferred Experience: 4 years Paycom experience
- Education:
- Minimum Required Education: High School Diploma/GED
- Preferred Education: Associates Degree in Finance, Accounting, HR or other related field.
