Ambassador Personnel is seeking a Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor for their client in Tifton, GA. This is a direct hire position with excellent benefits, paid time off, 12 paid holidays, and a 401k with company match.
The Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor will oversee daily operations in the laboratory. The Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor establishes processes, standards, and procedures that drive the safety and effectiveness of the laboratory. The Quality Control Laboratory Supervisor needs to be comfortable leading teams, completing testing using chemicals and testing equipment, and maintaining inventory of frequently used supplies. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus! This position requires a bachelor's degree in science or a related scientific field of study and previous supervisory experience.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains laboratory equipment performance by establishing quality standards; developing operations, quality, and troubleshooting procedures; ensuring staff compliance; managing instrument performance; arranging equipment replacement, service, and repair.
- Maintains quality results by participating in the quality assurance program; performing proficiency surveys; reviewing quality control and quality assurance programs; adjusting in policy and procedures; generating reports; maintaining records.
- Maintains laboratory information by identifying information needs and problems; recommending improvements; establishing priorities; testing; writing user manuals; training employees; maintaining security and confidentiality.
- Implements new programs, tests, methods, instrumentation, and procedures by investigating alternatives; preparing proposals; developing and performing parallel testing; monitoring progress.
- Interacts with customers as a partner to transfer technical information effectively; proactively communicates with customers in a professional manner and works with them collaboratively to resolve problems.
- Maintains laboratory staff by selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains laboratory staff results by counseling and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Resolves problems by consulting with chemists, other Supervisors, technical directors, and customer laboratory contacts.
- Demonstrate competency on all test methods, lab SOP’s and instrument calibrations to a level sufficient to perform all assigned work and to be able to train others.
Requirements:
- bachelor's degree in science or related science field
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a laboratory setting
- Previous experience using chromatography, titration, viscometer, pH meter, turbidity meter, and conductivity meter.
- Successful completion of background and drug testing as required by client.
