Sr. Materials Manager, AWS Supply Chain

Amazon
Seattle, WA Full Time
POSTED ON 7/21/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 9/21/2026

Description

AWS Infrastructure Services is the backbone of Amazon Web Services, responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS's global infrastructure. We are the driving force that keeps the cloud running, supporting all AWS data centers and managing the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure uninterrupted access to innovation for our customers worldwide.

Our team tackles the most complex challenges in cloud infrastructure, juggling thousands of variables across the supply chain. We're seeking exceptional talent to join us in this mission-critical endeavor.

The Role
We are seeking a Senior Materials Manager to own and drive complex, multi-region inventory and
supply chain strategies across AWS Infrastructure. This is not a role for someone who executes within
established frameworks — it's for a builder who creates them. You will serve as a subject matter expert across multiple supply chain domains, influencing senior leadership decisions, developing new methodologies, and delivering organization-wide impact.

You will operate at the intersection of hardware engineering, capacity planning, and global supply chain operations — defining "what" and "why" before the "how." You'll be expected to identify novel problems, develop scalable solutions, and raise the bar for how AWS manages materials at
unprecedented global scale.

Key job responsibilities
• Own end-to-end inventory management strategy across multiple product families and global
regions, balancing customer experience, cost optimization, and operational efficiency

• Design and implement new supply chain frameworks, processes, and best practices that scale across the AWS Infrastructure organization

• Build advanced analytics solutions, dashboards, and decision-support tools that drive strategic
resource prioritization and executive-level visibility

• Influence senior leadership through data-driven recommendations, clearly articulating trade-offs
and strategic implications

• Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives spanning engineering, capacity planning, procurement, and operations — driving alignment across organizations with competing priorities

• Identify and solve novel supply chain problems with no established playbook, developing
repeatable methodologies that others adopt

• Define and execute strategic supply schedules, proactively communicating risks, priorities, and
status to VP-level stakeholders and external partners

• Mentor and develop team members, raising the bar on analytical rigor and strategic thinking
across the supply chain organization
