Manager, Public Policy

Description

Come build a future with Amazon Public Policy. The Public Policy Manager will have the responsibility to develop and execute Amazon’s public policy efforts at the city level in New York City. You will work collaboratively with the Head of New York Policy and Amazon’s public policy and business teams to ensure alignment between business priorities and public policy goals.

Key job responsibilities
• Create and execute a government affairs strategy to support public policy goals in New York City.
• Educate key city officials and agencies on a variety of policy areas.
• Coordinate advocacy work with trade associations, consultants, and policy organizations.
• Assess and anticipate public policy matters, oversee and execute external advocacy efforts, and drive key initiatives.
• Assess and communicate potential government activities to the business, develop strategies and positions, and coordinate external advocacy efforts, outreach programs, and key initiatives in concert with business objectives.

Basic Qualifications

- 8 years of relevant public policy and advocacy experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies
- Experience with New York City government.
- Experience interacting with government agencies on technology policy.
- Expert understanding of the legislative and regulatory policy process and the technology industry.
- Expert skills in advocacy and using spoken and written rhetoric to persuade and inform.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience creating and effectively delivering factual, relevant, and easily understandable talking points and other messaging.
- Broad government relations strategy experience.
- Ability to maintain the highest personal levels of ethical conduct, confidentiality, and integrity.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
