Accounting Manager, Amazon Leo for Government

Description

Amazon Leo is seeking an Accounting Manager to join our rapidly growing team, as we build the future of global connectivity. As a key contributor to our Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) team, you will support our financial reporting and close process, as well as operational and technical accounting projects. This role will work with stakeholders across the business, building trust across the organization and diving deep into transactional details. We are seeking a candidate who will take ownership of processes with a focus on invention and simplification via process automation and use of AI tools.

Key job responsibilities
- Execute month-end close procedures to ensure accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting.
- Provide technical and operational support during the development and rollout of subledger modules, ensuring seamless integration with existing accounting systems and workflows.
- Manage complex accounting judgments related to a variety of transactions, including fixed assets (ASC 360) and research and development (ASC 730).
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including business, product, legal, tax, and finance.
- Implement automation and AI solutions to optimize workflows and eliminate manual inefficiencies.

Basic Qualifications

- 5 years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
- This position is subject to U.S. export control regulations. Candidates must be U.S. citizens to be eligible for this role.

Preferred Qualifications

- CPA
- Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO) to assess control design and operational efficiency
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
- Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
