Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Recovery Assistant to support individuals in their journey toward recovery and well-being. This role involves providing direct assistance, crisis intervention, and case management services within a supportive environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, crisis management abilities, and experience in social work, behavioral health, or related fields. The Recovery Assistant plays a vital role in fostering a safe, nurturing environment that promotes positive behavioral change and recovery.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities and behavioral management strategies to promote stability and recovery.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed to ensure safety for clients and staff.
- Support clients through intake processes, assessments, and ongoing case management activities.
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document medication administration accurately.
- Maintain detailed data collection, filing, and data entry records related to client progress and services provided.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
- Offer childcare support when necessary to facilitate participation in treatment programs or activities.
- Implement behavioral health interventions and support clients in developing coping skills.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed, including first aid procedures when required.
- Support home and community care initiatives by assisting clients with resource navigation and community integration.
Skills
- Supervising experience in social work, childcare, or behavioral health settings is preferred.
- Strong crisis intervention skills with the ability to manage conflict effectively.
- Knowledge of addiction counseling principles, conflict management, and behavioral health practices.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and team members.
- Experience with case management, intake procedures, data collection, and data entry systems.
- Ability to perform medication administration accurately following protocols.
- Familiarity with LIHTC programs or home & community care experience is advantageous.
- Basic first aid certification is desirable to respond effectively in emergencies.
- Skills in filing, record keeping, and maintaining organized documentation are essential for compliance and quality assurance.
